Enhancement of diabetic wound healing with hyaluronic acid-povidone-iodine compound

Hyaluronic Acid-Povidone-Iodine Compound Facilitates Diabetic Wound Healing in a Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetes Rodent Model.

Article specifications

This clinical trial was published in 2019 in Journal of Plast Reconstr Surg. (IF2014: 2.993) by Taiwan specialists. The aim of this study was to investigate whether a hyaluronic acid-povidone-iodine compound can enhance diabetic wound healing.

Results

Higher molecular weight hyaluronic acid plus povidone-iodine complex dressing significantly facilitated diabetic wound healing via increasing neovascularization and tissue regeneration and suppressing a proinflammatory response.
