This clinical study was published in 2019 in Journal of J Maxillofac Oral Surg. (IF 2012: 1.333) by Indian specialists. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of sodium hyaluronate followed by single-puncture arthrocentesis. A sample of 10 patients (7 females and 3 males) with TMJ disorder was selected. Arthrocentesis was done followed by sodium hyaluronate injection for all the patients.
Result
This study shows that single-puncture Ringer's lactate arthrocentesis followed by sodium hyaluronate injection is effective in the management of the internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint.
