This clinical trial was published in 2002 in American Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (IF 2015:3.02) by French ophthalmologists. In this randomized study, 128 consecutive LASIK cases, primarily bilateral; 79 received hyaluronic acid preoperatively and 49 did not.
Results
Preoperative protection by hyaluronate drops appears to be efficient and is recommended for regular use. The visual outcome appears to be unaffected.
