This clinical trial was published in 2016 in Journal of Arthroscopy. (IF2017/2018: 0.33) by Pakistan specialists. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of Intra articular sodium hyaluronate and corticosteroids in the pain management of knee osteoarthritis.

 

Results

There was a significant difference in the mean pain score (MPS) improvements in the patients injected with articular sodium hyaluronate as compared to corticosteroids group. The hyaluronate acid treatment is beneficial in long term treatment, but with great effectiveness, whereas, the corticosteroids treatment is effective for only short term course.
